Being a writer in the twenty-first century is about being adaptable. The days of writing alone in an attic for months on end and then sending the one copy of your manuscript off to a publisher are over. Long over.
That's not a bad thing at all - I shudder to think what happened if that one manuscript got lost. Can you even imagine?
Still now days in the age of Amazon, e-books and the internet we authors struggle to be seen in different ways. One must blog, be on Facebook and social media platforms and one must also have a way of getting in touch with readers.
When I started working in public relations years ago I spent a lot of hours writing company newsletters. I wrote them for customers and I wrote them for staff. My area of expertise was the children's pages, they were so fun to write. Then the newsletter went out of fashion and no one much created them for a while.
Now the e-newsletter is the big thing and writers are no exception.
So I'm setting up my own. Don't worry I won't bombard you with emails if you sign up. Only when I have a book on sale, a great giveaway or a new release will you hear from me.
Sign up in May and go in the running to win a $20 Amazon gift card.
